Ok, first off, let me just say that I was extremely sceptical when I first got this. But there was a $4.95 – 21 day trial period so I thought what the heck. (Note to get this trial – you need to Close the video presentation before it finishes)
Anyways let’s continue. Ok, so you have to enter your username and password to access the training site. First thing you see is a welcome message from the creator Matt Smith.

At this stage I’m still sceptical. The guy looks youngish. Doesn’t really sound like a soccer player on first look. Is this guy really a former pro soccer player? I’m totally not convinced by his welcome video.
OK, let’s give the guy a chance right? I watch the first training video. It’s about warming up.
He shows you a couple of warm up exercises. Still not convinced that this dude is a former pro soccer player. Starting to worry that I got a dud product now.
Let’s check out the first skills video anyway. The first skills video is about dynamic ball drills. Now this is where I start believing in this guy.
The way he moves, tapping his foot off and on the ball. Credit to him, he’s starting to look more like a pro-player.
You know what, let’s go check out one of the advanced skills videos. Let’s watch him demonstrate a bicycle kick. Wow!
The dude can do a bicycle kick man!
Ok, I’m starting to really believe the guy can play now. Just to make sure let’s watch another advanced skills video. Let’s watch him do a move he calls the “supercharged rainbow move”.
Holy SH!@%! What a sick move….the guy can freakin play! You gotta see this move, it’s like a rainbow kick but “supercharged”!
Let’s watch him do the Ronaldinho Feint. Woahhhh, respect man, respect! Executed with perfection. Ok, the dude can play. I’m sorry I doubted you Matt!
So, I’m totally convinced and trust that this guy used to play pro-soccer now.
Epic Soccer Training Review: My AHAAA Moment!
Let’s check out the “Soccer IQ” classroom sections to see if he understands the game too. So I’m watching the classroom videos now and let me just say that Matt knows he’s shit.
Listen, I’ve been coached by many “parent coaches” who like I’ve said before, bless them, they try their best but they’ve never played pro before and they just teach you the wrong shit!
It was really refreshing to listen to the tactics and mindset of a former pro player. It’s like you’re sitting in the sheds of a pro soccer team at half-time, listening to a professional coach.
I had so many AHAAA moments it wasn’t funny. It was like “man my park soccer coach “doesn’t know jack” compared to this guy.
One of his tips about how to make yourself available to receive the ball, helped me score 4 goals at indoor soccer!
This simple tip allowed me to get more possession of the ball than I used to, giving me more opportunity to shoot.
Some of what Matt teaches includes:
- The offensive mindset (he’s got some great tips here to help your team score more goals)
- Controlling the midfield (how to boss and dominate the midfield)
- Supporting and receiving (solid advice on how to keep and get possession of the ball)
Epic soccer training review: What’s in it? Will it really take my game to the next level?
I truly believe it will and it has already taken my game up another notch. Like I keep saying, it’s the “Soccer IQ” and the skill that will combine to really set you apart. Not only will you beat players, you also have the knowledge to outsmart them.
Trust me man, most “amateur park soccer” players won’t know this stuff. You’ll have a distinct advantage. Now you have to practice the skills of course, but if you’re a truly passionate player you’ll actually love doing this.
It’s not even work. It’s play.
Ok, so what does the training cover?
Now, granted it includes a sports nutrition guide and a fitness program, these were not my favourite parts. To be honest I think there are better nutrition and fitness guides out there like the Total Fitness Soccer guide (which is dedicated to soccer fitness).
The key thing about Matt Smith’s Epic soccer training is the videos. It’s just too hard trying to learn skills and tricks just by reading them from a book right?. Epic soccer training is different.
In the training area there are…wait let me count it first…There’s over 50 videos with Matt showing different tricks and tips.
Use them to:
- get out of tricky situations,
- beat defenders,
- or just use them to impress your mates!
Look, it can actually get a bit overwhelming seeing all these videos in front of your face. They are categorised into different modules, meaning that you’re supposed to go through them in a specific order. From basic moves to advanced.
But I’ve got a tip for ya. Use one trick at a time. So, learn one of the tricks and try to implement it into your next game. Whether it be a muck around game, indoor soccer, or outdoor. Just try to master one trick first.
If your good at tricks/moves already, then you might want to head straight to the “Soccer IQ” classrooms first. But there are so many tricks there, I’m sure there’s a little something for everyone, regardless of your current level.
I mean the guy goes over your standard type tricks like the stepover, scissors and feinting but he also shows you these super advanced moves to really impress your mates, like the supercharged rainbow trick I was talking about before, the Zidane tap and turn, the Ronaldhino elastic and the Cristiano Ronaldo stack move (this is seriously one hectic move, cos it’s like giving yourself a 1-2!, it’s freakin awesome man, I use this move all the time now).
The good thing is, he explains how to do each move, shows you- and also explains when you should use it.
I’m telling you man, this shit is gold!
Go check it out for yourself. Watch Matt’s presentation now about how he went from a below average soccer player to being a professional.
